2023 Academy Award Nominations: The Biggest Surprises and Snubs

The winner of this year's Oscar for Best Actor is Michelle Yeoh, who won the role of actor in Everything Everywhere All at Once. Cate Blanchett, Ana de Armas, Michelle Williams, and Andrea Riseborough joined her in the nomination for Best Actor. I thought Cate Blanchett had great potential to become the best actor because I had some knowledge of her previous works. I am pleased with Michelle Yeoh's award. This is the first Asian American woman to win an Oscar since the Academy Awards. I think she has taken a huge step forward for tens of millions of Asian women. As her award-winning speech said, "Don't let anyone tell you that you have passed your prime." As long as you have a dream and dare to try, you will definitely achieve something. After Michelle Yeoh won the prize, I went to see "Everything Everywhere All at Once." The story is a little bit wild and out of the box. I can see some real dilemmas in Asian families in the movie. In the movie, Joey is forced by her mother to hope she can do better. In fact, there are many Asian children outside the movie who also have the same dilemmas as Joey. By the end of the movie, the mother played by Michelle Yeoh finally puts down her obsession and reunites with her daughter. Hope Families with similar dilemmas outside the movie can also have a happy ending.
